Effective Web Design Tips for Vegan Health Coaches

Tips to help vegan/plant-based health coaches with their websites.

You’ve decided to follow your dream of running a vegan health coaching business. Congratulations! Go share your love and passion for practicing a vegan lifestyle.

Now, you realize you need a vegan health coach website that aligns with your authentic brand’s message and mission, but don’t know where to start. Let’s discuss some effective web design tips to help get you on the right path.

1. ) Determine the Web Design for Your Vegan Health Coaching Website.

The first thing you need to do is decide if you are going to take the DIY route or hire a vegan web designer.

Then, before a website design is created for your vegan health coaching business it’s important to know your brand. Think about how you want your audience to feel when they see your website and interact with you.

Does your business have a calm and sincere personality?

Is it important to you that your clients feel like they can trust you and your business?

Here are a couple of factors that influence your web design:

Target Audience

Knowing who your target audience is helps with determining the web design. If you are trying to reach a more serious person you don’t want the design to have a childlike appearance. The website design must reflect who you are trying to attract to build a connection.

People want to feel like they can relate to a brand. They don’t want to do business if they can’t connect.

Select the Right Color Palette

Many people don’t realize that colors can give off specific emotions. For instance, red tends to represent passion, excitement, and urgency.  Green can have a calming effect.

By selecting the right colors to represent your business your audience can feel what your mission and values represent.

As a vegan health coach, you want to help your audience connect better with your business. When they experience a memorable connection it can have a lasting impression and make them feel comfortable with buying your services.

2. ) Responsive Design for Your Vegan Health Coaching Website.

I bet you have visited a website on your cellphone and after it finished loading you noticed that you had to scroll the page from left to right to be able to read the text. Did you just nod?

Maybe the image was so huge you couldn’t even see the entire thing. What did you think during that moment?

You probably were annoyed, gave up, and left that website. Am I right?

You certainly don’t want that for your website, so let’s prevent that from happening. Nowadays most people are viewing websites on a mobile device. It’s crucial to make sure your vegan health coaching website is mobile-friendly.

Responsive design is when the size of a website is properly adjusted to fit the screen of whatever device a visitor is using. This can be a desktop computer, tablet, or cellphone.

3. ) Create a Mailing List for Your Vegan Health Coaching Website.

One of your primary goals as a vegan health coach is to promote your business and sell your services to your target audience, right? Did you just nod, again?!

A great way to market your business and spread the word is by creating a mailing list. With a mailing list, you can create a simple way for your website visitors to subscribe to your newsletter.

They can learn more about:

  • Your business,

  • Your current and newly added services,

  • Your new products,

  • Practical tips.

This can help build a connection and make you more relatable.

By having a mailing list you can stay on top of your subscribers’ minds. Most people who visit your website won’t be ready to purchase your products, but they could be potential clients down the road.

When they are at the ready-to-purchase stage they will be more inclined to come back to you and buy because you have already built a connection and established trust with them.

Another way to market to your target audience is by creating a lead magnet (aka a freebie or an opt-in gift) for your vegan health coach business. A lead magnet can be as simple as a checklist of must-haves to a step-by-step detailed guide of something related to your business.

You can structure your lead magnet to automatically subscribe your visitor to your mailing list immediately after they download it or you can have the visitor double confirm if they want to be subscribed before adding them.

Email Marketing Options for Vegan Health Coaches

Deciding which email marketing platform to choose for promoting your vegan health coach business can be overwhelming.

Here are some options you can choose from:

MailChimp

MailChimp has a free plan option for you to start your email marketing journey. It can be a good option if you want to test out email marketing without having to spend money.

A downside is that you will run into many limitations quickly. The free plan doesn’t allow you to have access to A/B testing features. If you are unfamiliar with A/B testing it is a feature where you can test multiple versions of your email campaigns to see which version resonates best with your audience.

This is a great way to increase your email open rates and click-through rates too.

Also, you won’t be able to create different audiences on the free plan. A benefit of being able to create more than one audience for email marketing is to be able to send specific emails to people who already have purchased from you.

You will have to purchase a plan if you want access to more features. The price of their plans is based on the number of contacts you have and the features, of course.

At the time of writing this, their paid plans start at $13/month (Essentials Plan), $20/month (Standard Plan), and $350/month (Premium Plan). The price increases if you have more than 10,000 contacts.

You can check out their prices and features here

Flodesk

Flodesk doesn’t have a free plan for email marketing, but at the time of writing this blog post, it has a 30-day free trial. They advertise that they have an email marketing flat fee of $35/month where you don’t have to pay more when your business grows.

If you want your subscribers to be able to checkout directly from your emails you have to add the e-commerce plan for $24/month for a total of $59/month. In the long run, Flodesk is more affordable.

Some pros to using Flodesk are that they have gorgeous email templates and you can send unlimited emails.

Some cons are that they do not have advanced features, such as A/B testing and more email segmentation options. If you need these features, then Flodesk is not your best option.

ConvertKit

Now, ConvertKit has a free plan for up to 10,000 subscribers, but you only are allowed one email sequence. If you want a welcome series sequence and another type of series you won’t be able to have both.

Here are some of the plan prices to get an idea of what to expect:

  • Up to 10,000 subscribers (BUT, limited features): Free

  • Up to 300 subscribers: Starting from $9/month

  • Up to 1,000 subscribers: Starting from $25/month

  • Up to 3,000 subscribers: Starting from $41/month

  • Up to 5,000 subscribers: Starting from $66/month

  • Up to 8,000 subscribers: Starting from $83/month

(And it keeps increasing…)

A great feature that ConvertKit has is email list segmenting. Segmenting helps you track open rates and click-through rates, so you can only email the subscribers who have an interest in a specific topic, service, or product. This can help increase your open rates, conversion rates, and decrease unsubscribes.

4. ) Strategically Place Your Mailing List and/or Opt-In Gift.

Once you have created a mailing list and/or an opt-in gift you want them to be strategically placed on your website to help draw in more clients.

Some great places to put them are at the middle or bottom of your blog posts or in the footer section. When a visitor gets to the bottom of your website they tend to be much more interested in what you have to offer.

Grab this opportunity and show them how they can get on your mailing list or get your opt-in!

5. ) Get High-Quality Images for Your Vegan Health Coaching Website.

Having high-quality images on your website makes you look professional and more trustworthy. They improve the aesthetic design, give a better user experience, and can lead to increased user engagement.

It makes you look like you care about every aspect of your business and that you would care about your clients too.

There are different ways to get high-quality images for your vegan health coaching website. You can hire a brand or lifestyle photographer who can take custom photos to help reflect your authentic brand identity.

If you don’t have the budget for that you can take another route and use free high-quality stock images. You can find some on websites, such as Unsplash.com and Pexels.com.

Conclusion

I hope you found these web design tips for your vegan health coaching business helpful. One of the main recurring themes of these web design tips is that having an effective brand and website design are key ways to help build a strong connection with your target audience.
